Our HUGO and Company team first heard about a family of five (an ocean away) who would soon be making London, Ontario, their new home around Christmas 2025.
We thought they would be here any day.
But “any day” became weeks. Then weeks became months.
While the family waited for the green light to come to Canada, we made a list of house hold items and began to gather donations — from clients, friends, family, and our team.
Well... the snow melted, spring came... and then the weather warmed for summer.
And then, finally, the news we had all been waiting for:
They were coming!
In June 2026 the family arrived in London and by the end of June, they had picked out their new home.
And we were ready for this moment...
With the help of our incredible community who donated a houseful of furniture and supplies, we were eager to turn an empty house into a warm, welcoming home.
Ahmed and Dean, our exceptional moving team, diligently traveled to various storage sites (such as basements, garages, church storage, etc.) to collect the items.
A number of our HUGO team members arrived to organize donations, clean kitchen items (which had been stored in boxes for months!), hang artwork, make beds, and transform the house into a cozy home!
Speaking of beds, a big shoutout to Albert at A&A Mattress for delivering four mattresses, boxsprings, encasements and protectors AND setting it all up for us.
Here was our biggest (and admittedly, most fun) challenge: bringing together an eclectic grouping of donations within a day!
And in the evening, when the curtains were hung...
Not only was the project an absolute blast to do, it reminded us of a few things:
We have amazing clients, and an awesome London and surrounding community! You are generous and thoughtful! We could NOT have done this without you.
Moving isn't just about getting belongings from one place to another... it's about creating home. And that "home" feeling has a huge impact.
We were so honoured to be part of this family's first chapter in London. We hope this new home is a place of rest, inspiration, family time, and new memories... and so much more!
Lastly, we posted this recap. Enjoy :)
